About Us
Milner Road Occupational therapy works with children and their families to reach their maximum potential, gain independence and strengthen their skills needed for everyday life. Our clients range from infants to early teens. We evaluate a child’s developmental abilities using standardised assessments to establish areas of immaturity and formulate a developmental approach for treatment.
Our Story
Milner Road Occupational Therapy practice was established in 1994 by Laurette Malengret after heading up the Red Cross Children’s OT department and subsequently lecturing at the University of Cape Town. The Milner Road team is passionate about lifelong learning and keeping up with the latest research in therapeutic approaches. Collectively we have training in Neuro-developmental therapy (NDT), Ayres sensory integration therapy (SI), Perceptual Motor training and Developmental Therapy. We are a collaborative team and work alongside other disciplines to offer a holistic approach.
